Rabat – Many countries announced on Sunday as Eid Al Fitr 2025, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and VAE.
Countries like Saudi Arabia have now grasped the crescent moon for the month of Shawwal and therefore confirmed that Eid al Fitr will be on March 30th.
However, other countries like Egypt have not discovered the moon, which means that Eid will take place on March 31 – and also mark the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.
At the beginning of the month of Shawwal, the end of the Ramadan marks when the Muslims fast from dawn to sunset for 29 or 30 days, depending on the lunar calendar.
Morocco has not yet announced the date of Eid al Fitr after the crescent moon has been seen.
Ramadan in Morocco started on March 2. The majority of other countries, especially in the Middle East, celebrated the first day of Ramadan on March 1.
Muslims all over the world begin the Eid al Fitr celebrations by going to the mosque in the morning to carry out the Eid al fitr prayers.
After the prayers, the Muslims gather for the first time in a month of fasting on the morning breakfast.
Sweets are the heart of meals that are served during this special morning. In Morocco, this comprises flat bread such as MSmen and “Malawi” and “Baghrir” (Moroccan pancakes). This is a special occasion because it is the first time that Muslims can eat with family and friends during the day.
In addition to food, Muslims, especially children, celebrate the festival in a unique way by wearing new clothes. In Morocco, children with new Kaftans, Djellabas for the girls and Gandouras or Djellabas are decorated for the boys.
