It was almost five years ago that EA has published the source code for the C&C Remastered Collection DLL files. This publication was praised in the entire video game industry and enables the community to create amazing content for the remastered collection. In response to the recovery process of the C&C archive, EA now publishes the fully restored source code for command & conquer (AKA, Tiberian Dawn) and C&C Red Alert under the GPL license.

This will enable those in the community that continue to create content for these classic entries in the franchise, and Feenan hopes that it will help communities like CNCnet to continue to support these games and keep them too playable for future generations.

Feenan said the municipality at W3DHUB had done great things with the Renegade engine of the C&C engine for almost 20 years, and its projects have promoted the absolute game boundaries. In order to support you in the start of the game and your great projects, EA also publishes the complete source code for C&C Renegade as part of the GPL license.

“We all here are all very excited to see what the community is next for the community at W3dhub in store and what they will be able with this publication,” said Feenan.

EA also said that it enables the Steam Workshop support for further C&C titles so that users can upload their custom cards. EA has also updated all tools for mission editor and World Builder so that you can publish cards directly in the Steam Workshop. If you subscribe to an article on the Steam Workshop (via the client or website), the games will now reduce this content if you start the game as the next time, and the cards are displayed in the single players/multiplayer card selection menus.

EA publishes a “C&C Modding SupportPack that contains the source -XML, schema, script, shader and card files for all games that use the sage engine. This has been another community for almost 15 years, so Feenan said that he was excited to finally achieve this, and it should help the community to make amazing content and mods for the coming years.
