Domestic demand slows down at T4-2024


In the last quarter of 2024, ex -Demand recorded a slowdown of its increase rate at 7.6% instead of 8.1% in the same quarter of the previous year with a contribution to economic growth of 8.9 points instead of 9.4 points in the previous year. This results from the decree of the national accounts published by the HCP.

Therefore, the final consumption costs of the households showed a slowdown of their increase rate of 5.1% in the same period of the previous year to 4.1% in the 4th quarter of 2024, whereby a contribution to growth of 2.6 points corresponds instead of 3.2 points. In turn, the final consumption costs of public administrations recorded an increase of 4.8% instead of 3%, which corresponds to a contribution to growth of 0.9 points instead of 0.6 points.

In addition, the rate of increased gross information (FBCF, variation of the shares and the net acquisition of values) recorded an increase of 15.3% instead of 16.6% in the 4th quarter of 2023, which contributes to the growth of 5.4 points instead of 5.5 points, emphasizes the HCP.
