Bryant shared photos the moment Washington gave his life to Christ in a Facebook post.
“We celebrate Minister Denzel Washington’s induction into the clergy after he received his priest’s license in the Church of God in Christ today in a truly uplifting moment,” the post reads.
“He is dressed this way because he received water baptism in the same service,” Bryant added. “Both the baptism and licensing took place at the historic Kelly Temple in NYC, a place that was close to his heart. Denzel Washington attended this church as a child and testified that he was filled with the Holy Spirit after attending another church with actor Robert Townsend in the ’80s.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Washington representatives for further comment.
“Denzel Washington’s recent commitment to faith and service is truly inspiring,” Bryant added separate Facebook post. “His baptism and permission to preach are the culmination of a life of faith.”
