Crystal Kung Minkoff finally reveals the shady truth behind the infamous 14 Friends fallout!
crystal If Minkoff finally spills the tea on the infamous 14 Friends drama, clears up years of speculation and opens up about the chaotic fallout that rocked her personal life after she joined RHOBA.
On the January 13th episode of her podcast Humble brag about Crystal and Cynthia, crystal revealed the shocking details behind her broken friendships, including an ex-girlfriend’s alleged attempt to sabotage her reputation. “It’s not 14.” crystal41, clarified, referring to an earlier comment by Add chest about the loss of 14 friends.
“I’m the one who said the number 14. Lisa I brought it up because I told her off camera. (There were) seven (from) one group.” The fallout began as an old friend who had once been considered RHOBAturned against her.
“An ex-girlfriend of mine wanted to do the show… but her husband didn’t support it.” crystal revealed. “As her friend, I said, ‘I think this is the right decision for your family.'”
But tensions rose as crystal himself was cast. “I told her and the conversation wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. She asked, ‘Why is it good enough for you and not for me?'” crystal explained.
Although she joined the show in part to use her platform to address hate crimes against Asians, she admitted she didn’t agree with that reasoning at the time because she felt it might come across as a cop-out. After their last conversation crystal never heard from her friend again. “That was four and a half years ago,” she said.
The fallout didn’t end there. A group photo of her mommy and me circle emerged – without her. “It broke my heart,” she admitted. “I sent letters and flowers to everyone, asking them to make things right… No one responded.”
The rejection intensified when Crystal became the target of what she called a smear campaign. “They started telling people that I had made up lies about them. Then they sent DMs to the cast to destroy my character,” she claimed.
“It wasn’t just about dropping me – it was, ‘Now we have to destroy them.'” Despite the negativity, crystal found support among her closest allies.
“My best friends are amazing because they really stood by me,” she shared, adding that others privately warned her about the toxicity within the group. “You don’t think this will ever happen to you.” Looking back, Crystal seems ready to move forward.
“I learned a lot about people and am grateful for the friends who stayed loyal,” she concluded.
