Cristiano Ronaldo has reached an agreement with the Saudi Club al-Nassr to extend his contract by a year until June 2026, as a club official announced on Monday.
According to the source, both parties have agreed on the extended extension of the contract, although the official signing has not yet taken place. “An announcement will be made in the coming days,” said the official.
Ronaldo, who was 40 years old last week, became contractually until June 2025 with Al-Nassr. Since he joined the club in January 2023, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus striker has scored 82 goals in 90 games.
Last August, the five-time balloon d’Or winner indicated that he could end his career at Al-Nassr, and explained that his retirement could pass “soon or in two or three years”. “But it will most likely pass with Al-Nassr in the team that makes me happy … and where I feel good,” he said.
Although he probably missed the World Cup gloss, Ronaldo continues to follow a performance that his longtime rival Lionel Messi has achieved. When he approaches the milestone of 1,000 professional goals in official games, he still has to win a Saudi or continental title with Al-Nassr. The Arab Champions Cup 2023 remains his only trophy with the club.
