  • 1 cup (115 g) chopped dried cranberries

Directions

Preheat the oven to 177 ° C to 350 ° f).. Place an 8-inch square baking form with parchment paper and leave a 2-inch overhang on two opposite pages to create a loop for easy distance.

To make the crust: combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a food processor. Pulse a few times to mix. Add the butter and impulse until the mixture resembles gross crumbs, with butter pieces that are not larger than a lens, about 20 impulses.

Add the vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon of water. Impulse 5 times or just until the dough begins to clump together. The mixture should easily stick together if they are pressed between their fingers. If it feels too dry, add more water, 1 teaspoon at the same time and pulsates shortly after each addition.

Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press firmly into an even layer. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the crust is slightly golden. Take out of the oven and put aside.

To make the filling: in a medium -sized bowl, whisk the maple syrup, the melted butter, the egg, the vanilla extract and the salt. Stir in the chopped walnuts and dried cranberries.

Pour the filling evenly over the warm crust. Run the pan back in the oven and bake it for 20 to 25 minutes or until the filling bubbles and the nuts are slightly browned.
