Cold wave: Morocco mobilizes its resources to protect more than 870,000 inhabitants

The Ministry of the Interior, on the orders of the High King, launched a nationwide mobilization to respond to the cold wave that hit several regions of Morocco.

The 2024-2025 national plan targets 872,778 inhabitants spread across 2,014 douars and 241 municipalities, including 185 additional douars as well as areas affected by recent earthquakes and floods.

This system envisages the creation of monitoring centers, the reinforcement of interventions, the supply of essential products, the distribution of food aid, blankets and firewood, but also the maintenance of road and telephone networks to ensure opening.
