Manchester City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain believes that Claudio Echeverri is one of the “best talents in recent years from South America”.
Echeverri finally teamed up with the City squad after ending his spell with the Boyhood Club River Plate.
The Premier League champions signed the 19-year-old in January 2024, but allowed him to be loaned to the River until last month.
And the club has great hopes for the attacking midfielder, who shone to Argentina in the under 20 South American championship.

“We wanted him to become a Manchester City player”
Abrealistain told the club’s official website: “Claudio is one of the best talents that have emerged from South America in recent years.
“We knew as soon as we saw him playing that he became a player in Manchester City.
“All natural elements are there – his touch, technology, eye for target and dribbling. Our job is now to transform these attributes and form Claudio into a world-class player.
“We will provide him with everything he needs to be the best that he can be. When he works hard, hears pep (Guardiola) and gives absolutely everything, I see no reason why he can’t be a top player. “
Echeverri entitles the Premier League campaign
Echeverri made 48 appearances for River, achieved four times and provided eight templates.
For the rest of this Premier League season, he is now entitled to play for City for City.
