Clarence Bass has been a role model for healthy aging for me for about 25 years. Recently some pictures of Clarence at the age of 87 were posted on his blog website which are exciting because he certainly defies the stereotype of a frail older person.
Like me, Clarence has struggled with the limitations of aging despite two hip replacements. He also has back problems that make deadlifts a bad idea, but has just found another way to get the same benefits.
From the pictures you can clearly see that he is still training at high intensity. Clarence walks every day, does flexibility exercises, and completes one hard strength training and one hard cardio workout per week. He also eats very well. Apparently this routine works well for him.
