Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause talks about how she “frozen in fear” during the evacuation after the Los Angeles wildfires.
The 43-year-old reality star made the announcement during her appearance on Wednesday, January 15 To Sherri that the fires and subsequent evacuation process brought back long-buried memories of her house burning down as a child.
“When we had to evacuate, a fire broke out in our backyard. It was just immediately like, ‘You have to go,'” she explained during the episode. “I think I kind of froze in fear. I had somehow forgotten that I saw my house burn down when I was 12 years old.”
Stause added that the incident was “something you don’t think about.” It’s been so long.”
However, this caused her to “freeze” when it was time to evacuate. Credited to Stause her wife, Australian singer G Flip (real name Georgia Claire Flipo) with taking charge during the evacuations while the reality TV star struggled due to her previous experiences with fires.
“You don’t know how you’re going to react. I think I would have liked to think that I would be healthy in an emergency,” Stause continued. “But that kind of showed me that I really needed a little kick in the butt, and G was there to keep me focused, and so it was just nice to have her.”
Stause further praised G Flip via an Instagram Story last week as she reflected on her traumatic childhood experience.

“A little post-traumatic stress disorder from the whole experience that I completely forgot about until last night when I stood there in shock,” she said. “Luckily I had my great partner who pulled me out of the crisis and helped me stay focused.”
While Stause was evacuated, she was fortunate not to lose her home to the wildfires that devastated parts of Los Angeles, including the exclusive Pacific Palisades area, Malibu, Santa Monica and the Hollywood Hills. Stause is one of many celebrities involved in the natural disaster. Stars like Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Paris Hilton And Miles Teller are among those whose houses went up in flames and were reduced to rubble.
Stause started dating G Flip after she broke up with her Jason Oppenheim Late 2021. Stause and G Flip tied the knot in May 2023.
Stause gushed about her relationship with G Flip in an interview with fashion in June 2022, she told the outlet, “Just being in proximity to G is such a mood-boosting experience; If you ever had the pleasure of being in the same room with them, you would quickly understand what I mean. I love feeling that endless support when I just want the other person to be who they are.”
