Rabat – The Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) announced a national march in Casablanca on Sunday, February 23, in protest against rising prices, withdrawal of purchasing power and growing unemployment.
The union sentenced What it described as a “interference between prosperity and power”, which indicates economic difficulties and what it sees as the indifference of employees towards the concerns of the employees.
“This is not just about wages. Families have difficulty making basic needs possible, and the government refuses to listen, ”said the CDT in an explanation.
This mobilization follows the general strike on February 5 and 6.
The CDT emphatically criticized the government’s approach and accused him of “undermining hard-loving rights and restricting the freedoms of the union”. The Union Rejected What It Called “Regressive and Unpopular Laws,” passed without consultation.
Among them is organic law 97.15 according to the right to strike, which was approved by the House of Representatives on the same day as the general strike of the unions.
The members associated with UMT rejected the legislative template and went out against what she saw as rushed and one -sided decision before the vote.
The CDT also condemned the proposed transmission of CNOPs (National Fund for Social Welfare Organizations) in CNS (National Social Security Fund), a step that argues, would weaken the reporting on health care for employees.
“The government is responsible for increasing social tensions,” said the CDT, accusing the authorities to ignore the framework for negotiations that were described in the national charter of April 30, 2022.
The union called for “all national, local and sectoral union structures, professional associations, workers and citizens” to take part in March.
At the beginning of this month, the unions warned that the general strike only marks the beginning of a wider resistance and social upheaval if the government does not respond to its demands.
