Cate Blanchett is one of the many actresses to voice their fears artificial intelligence.
In a recent interview with the BBC, The Oscar winner said the technology concerns her “deeply.”
“I look at these robots and driverless cars and I don’t really know what that does for anyone,” she told the outlet.
Blanchett added that she was “less concerned” about the impact of AI on her job and more “about the impact it will have on the average person.”

“I’m worried about us as a species, it’s a much bigger problem,” she said.
The Don’t Look Up star continued, saying the threat of AI is “very real” because “you can completely replace anyone.”

Blanchett’s concerns were expressed just weeks before Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which represents her, and YouTube announced their new partnership to manage the likenesses of actors and athletes in AI-generated content.
“By working with CAA, we will gain insights from some of the world’s most influential people – some of whom have been significantly impacted by the latest waves of AI innovation – to refine our product before rolling it out to a larger group of developers and artists “make accessible,” the company it says in a blog post.

Next year, CAA customers will have access to technology that can identify AI-generated content with their likenesses, giving them the option to have it removed through a privacy complaint process.

Several actors have already had problems with their facial and voice portrayals being used in AI-generated materials without their consent.
