Canon has ““, a new iOS live streaming app that supports up to three camera views that you can switch between with just a few taps. The app currently only works with Apple devices and strangely doesn’t support Canon’s own cameras.
Live Switcher Mobile allows users to set how many seconds an angle of view remains on a camera before automatically switching to another. The app also supports on-screen captions and real-time commentary. However, the latter feature only works when you stream on YouTube and Twitch Notes: The app can also stream to other RTMP supported platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram and even LinkedIn, among others.
While Live Switcher Mobile is free, the unpaid version only supports resolutions up to 720p. Additionally, advertisements and watermarks appear on the screen. A costs $18 per month and unlocks image overlay as well as picture-in-picture zoom and motion features. Of course, the maximum resolution is increased to 1080p and ads and watermarks are removed.
Live Switcher Mobile has fewer features compared to free apps like OBS Studio and Streamlabs, meaning Canon still has a lot of work to do to make the paid plan worthwhile. Fortunately, support for Canon cameras is coming soon.
