Busta Rhymes has reportedly turned himself in to police after an incident in New York in which he allegedly punched his assistant, Dashiel Gablesbecause he was supposedly on the phone at work. TMZ reports that the rapper is facing multiple charges following the Jan. 10 assault incident.

Details on Busta Rhymes’ alleged assault incident with his assistant
According to the New York PostPolice allege that Busta Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith Jr., punched his assistant Dashiel Gables multiple times in the face, causing swelling to his left eye. TMZ says Rhymes fled the scene after the attack and Gables immediately called the police. Authorities and paramedics responded quickly and Gables was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
On Tuesday, January 14, Busta Rhymes voluntarily turned herself in to the NYPD and was reportedly charged with assault, attempted assault and harassment. An appearance ticket means Rhymes must appear in court on a specific date to resolve the charges.
So far, Busta Rhymes has neither responded to the allegations nor commented on the incident.
