Lively and her husband Reynolds have taken legal action following the release of a controversial video by Justin Baldoni’s legal team.

The video shared by Daily Mailincludes several shots of a dance scene between Lively, 37, and Baldoni, 40, on the set of “It Ends With Us.”

While the footage appears to show the actors acting out a scene, Lively argues that it illustrates their discomfort during filming.

In response to the video’s release, Lively and Reynolds, 49, have filed for a protective order, alleging that Baldoni’s legal team, led by Bryan Freedman, is engaging in “inappropriate behavior” and “retaliatory media campaigns.”

Accordingly TMZThe pair allege that Freedman’s actions, including publicly sharing footage, violated court rules “that prevent an attorney from making statements to the press that are irrelevant to a case and could prejudice the jury.”

In their statement of claim filed Tuesday, they accused Freedman of orchestrating a media campaign aimed at harassing and discrediting them, citing the release of unedited footage as a key example.

However, sources close to Baldoni revealed their frustration with Lively’s request for a gag order Daily Mail that it was “extremely unfair” given the consequences he faced.

According to the sources, Baldoni has lost three job offers and hundreds of millions of dollars as a result of the defamatory allegations they published The New York Times.

“All Justin wants to do is release videos and text messages to prove the allegations are false,” the sources said.

They added: “It’s unbelievable that Blake Lively would launch a takedown campaign against Justin and then immediately turn around and say she wants a gag order so Justin can’t defend himself.”

Lively has since responded to the unedited footage. Her legal team issued a statement to the publication calling the release of the video a “stunt” designed to overshadow incriminating evidence against Baldoni.

They claim that “the video itself is damning” as it shows Baldoni “repeatedly leaning in toward Ms. Lively, attempting to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth on her neck, with his thumb over.” “Flipping her lip and caressing her.” Telling her how good she smells and talking to her out of character.”

Lively’s team added that “every frame of the released footage confirms exactly what Ms. Lively described in paragraph 48 of her complaint.”

Lively’s attorney emphasized that none of the intimate moments captured in the released footage, which was shot under Baldoni’s direction, were choreographed or pre-approved.

“Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni, without prior discussion or consent and without the presence of an intimacy coordinator,” the lawyer explained. “Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, but also Ms. Lively’s director, studio head and boss.”

Her legal team further argued that Lively’s visible discomfort in the scene was not due to acting, citing moments in which she turned away from Baldoni and “repeatedly requested that the characters just talk.”

“Any woman who has been touched inappropriately in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort,” the statement said. “You will recognize her careless attempts to ward off the unwanted touch. No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid her employer touching her without his or her consent.”

The team accused Baldoni of using the release of the video as “another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public” and called it “a continuation of her campaign of harassment and retaliation.”

“We continue our efforts to require Mr. Baldoni and his associates to answer in court, under oath and not through trumped-up media stunts,” Lively’s attorney concluded.

In her civil rights complaint filed last month, Lively claimed no one overheard the alleged comment that upset her because the romantic montage scene was silent and the microphones were turned off.

However, as The Blast reported, news outlets obtained video footage showing that Baldoni’s sound equipment was active during the recording. The clips, which capture all three shots, paint a different picture of the dynamics on set.

The video shows Lively and Baldoni appearing friendly and carefree in the scene while slow dancing.

They are seen joking about what to do at the moment while discussing how to spend time with their spouses.

The unedited footage contains the full context of the comment at approximately seven minutes. While they’re filming the dance scene, Lively brings up her tan and Baldoni responds playfully.

He jokes about possibly putting his beard on her, to which Lively replies that she’ll probably spray tan him.

Baldoni then remarks, “It smells good,” causing both of them to laugh before Lively explains that the scent actually comes from her body makeup.

While the scene shows Baldoni nuzzling Lively’s neck as part of her role as romantic partner, their behind-the-scenes interaction appears professional. Most of their conversations focus on lighting settings and their personal lives.

The raw footage, including audio, was shared by Baldoni’s production company Wayfarer and his attorney Bryan Freedman. Freedman reiterated that Baldoni had “nothing to hide.”
