With just over a month left in office, top members of President Biden The Cabinet stands behind its previous statements expressing support for his leadership and believing he is still fit for office despite a year of controversy and debate over Biden’s ability to serve out his term.
Fox News Digital reached out to Cabinet officials and their departments, asking them whether they believe President Biden is fit for office and whether they would stand by previous expressions of confidence in his ability to continue.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement in September that he has “full confidence in President Biden’s ability to carry out his job.”
“As I said, I am fully prepared for my meetings with President Biden, knowing that his questions will be detail-oriented, probing and demanding. “In our exchanges, the president always draws on our previous conversations and past events to analyze the issues and reach his conclusions,” he said.

On Monday, DHS said that the secretary stands by these comments.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo called Biden “one of the most successful presidents in American history and continues to lead our country with a steady hand.”
“As someone who is actually in the room when the president meets with the Cabinet and foreign leaders, I can tell you that he is an incisive and exceptional leader,” Raimondo said.
A spokesman said this week that Raimondo stands by those comments.
Sabrina Singh, deputy Pentagon A press secretary told Fox in September: “As Secretary Austin has said, he has watched President Biden make difficult national security decisions and seen his commitment to the safety of our troops – he has nothing but complete confidence in our commander in chief.”
This week, Singh said those comments still stand.
Biden’s mental capacity has been the subject of speculation since before he took office, but discussion about its impact reached its peak this year after what was widely seen as a disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump, which appeared to begin the process of replacing him on the Democratic ticket in the presidential race.
Biden ultimately dropped out of the race and surrendered the nomination Vice President Kamala Harris, who in turn would lose to President-elect Trump in the November election. But while Biden said he would not run for re-election, he chose not to resign from office.
The topic of Biden’s acumen resurfaced in September when he handed over leadership of a Cabinet meeting to first lady Jill Biden. But at that point, Cabinet members supported Biden and said they had no concerns about his fitness to serve.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra — One of Biden’s staunch defenders said Biden “has done more for this country as president than any president I’ve worked with since 1992.”
“So yes, not only can he do the job, he did it,” he said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “And we are fortunate to have someone who continues to use all of his experience to help us move forward. If you remember where we were four years ago, how deep is that.” a pandemic, Americans are losing their jobs, Americans are losing their health care. More Americans are working today than ever before. Today, more Americans have health insurance than ever before. No president in the history of this country has ever put 700 million vaccines into Americans’ arms to keep them alive and healthy. The result? Our economy is healthy.”
“Is he fit? He proves it,” Becerra added.
An HHS spokesman said Becerra’s comments stand.

Spokespeople for other agencies that have previously commented, including the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy and the Department of Agriculture, also said they stood by the comments.
Currently, President Biden will complete his term on January 20 when President-elect Trump takes office.

“The one thing I have always believed in public service, and especially in the presidency, is how important it is to ask ourselves: Did we leave the country in a better state than we found it? Today I can say it with every fiber of my being.” “From the bottom of my heart, the answer to that question is a resounding yes,” he said.
He continued to encourage employees to “stay committed” in the years ahead.
“You’re not going anywhere, boy,” Biden said of Harris. “Because we won’t let you.”
