According to Leila Benali, the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Rabat – Morocco positions itself as one of the most competitive countries in the area of renewable energies.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV During the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC-2025), Benali spoke about the growing role of Marrokko on the global market for renewable energies.
“We are experiencing a new configuration of value chains in which the most competitive players appear. I am convinced that Morocco is one of the high -competitive countries that can establish themselves in the global market for renewable energies, ”said Benali in the program“ Horizons Middle East and Africa ”by Bloomberg.
Benalis comments come in a major discussion about the future of global investments in renewable energy. The minister expressed the importance of a structured plan to finance the energy transfer and found that the competitiveness of the emerging players now depends on their ability to adapt to new green energy value chains.
With over 15 years of experience in the development of renewable energies and over 30 years in the acquisition of private investments, Morocco has recorded significant growth in this sector. These efforts were the key to modernizing the country’s energy infrastructure and the promotion of innovations in clean energy technologies.
Morocco has already exceeded its initial 42% renewable energy capacity in its energy mix and is now to reach 52% by 2030.
Leila Benali pointed out that annual investments in renewable energies have tripled while those in electrical networks have increased Fifth.
The minister also recalled the Morocco strategy of becoming an important player in regional energy integration. The country aims to strengthen its position as a corridor, combine Africa, Europe and the Atlantic for the energy trade and the collaboration.
