BCIJ discovers mountain area ISIS terrorist cell as a back base


The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) in Morocco today discovered a mountain area that was suspected of using a terrorist cell as a logistical back base.

The area contained weapons and ammunition, since members of a recently dismantled ISIS-connected cell belonged.

A statement by the national police and the national tertotiral surveillance directorate (Directorate of Tertotiral Monitoring (DGSN-Dgst) said on Thursday that ongoing investigations identified the mountain area through technical expertise and the identification process for satellite location. The alleged area is located in the province of Errachidia.

BCIJ opened an investigation in a top -class terrorist directory that wanted to undermine the stability of Morocco on Wednesday when it “thwarted a very dangerous” terrorist plan.

The confiscated firearms included two Kalashnikov rifles, two shotguns, ten individual handguns of different types, a large amount of cartridges and ammunition from different calibers.

After the area was uncovered, the police sealed the firearms and handed them over to experts in technical investigations.

The DGSN DGSt declaration states that the ongoing studies indicate that the weapons were carved to Morocco by a high-ranking ISIS leader in the Sahel region.

The ISIS leader also sent the location coordinates to the mined terror -Zell team to collect the weapons and use them to carry out terrorist attacks.

After breaking down the cell, Moroccan security services identified on Wednesday more materials, including an improvised explosive device that was still under assembly.
