BCCI announces official start date
The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to begin on March 23, 2025. The start date of India’s prestigious cricket tournament has been postponed by more than a week. However, there is still no announcement about the final date.
The decision to change the start date was announced by BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla. This decision is believed to have been taken during the BCCI’s special general meeting where the board officially appointed its new secretary and treasurer.

IPL 2025 is scheduled to begin on March 23
The start date of IPL 2025 was March 14 earlier. While speaking to reporters after the BCCI’s SGM, Rajeev Shukla announced that the tournament will now begin on March 23, although he did not announce the change in dates for the playoffs and finals.
