Battlestar Galactica’s sexiest Cylon rocks iconic outfit to celebrate the ultimate fan project

While the uniforms were smart, Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica Reboot is not a show that will be remembered primarily for its sci-fi style. However, there was one major exception: the seductive red dress worn by the sensual Cylon known only as Six. She was played to perfection by Tricia Helfer, who recently wore the red dress to celebrate the ultimate fan project: Barry Armstrong’s full-scale replica of the Viper starfighter flown on the show by pilots like Starbuck.
Armstrong has used his Facebook page Baz Builds to keep up to date with his Viper project. This is more than just a static replica, although that alone would still be insanely impressive. However, his Viper has lights, sounds and moving parts, and through a series of funny coincidences (or perhaps it is the will of the Lords of Kobol?) he ended up receiving a video shoutout from Tricia Helfer, complete with the red color dress, that burned into our minds Battlestar Galactica Fans all over the world.
Understandably, Barry Armstrong has amassed quite a following on his Facebook page… at the time of this writing, around 10,400 people follow him, allowing them to keep up to date with the project and take part in some deeply nerdy discussions. Armstrong is an Australian military veteran, and on December 21, his page received a post from Mitchell Bell, a Marine with whom he had a “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon”-style connection Galacticais the hottest star. When she first comes into the picture, she makes a cat-like meowing sound that is entirely her own Science fiction sound effect. Then, in a high-pitched voice, she explains exactly what she’s doing on the screen: “Number Six in front of the Christmas tree!”
After acting nice and goofy in her iconic red dress, Tricia Helfer demurely explained that she was “trying to have a good time,” then called out Baz by name. In particular, she expressed her hope that “Baz enjoyed his Merry Christmas greeting from Mitch.” As for the rest of the fanbase, they enjoyed the video for other reasons: Fans on Instagram and beyond mostly commented on how stunning Helfer always is still looks and how well she still pulls off that zesty little dress.
On the surface, it’s easy to see all of this as just eye candy. After all, seeing both a full-size Viper replica and Tricia Helfer in the red dress is a very sweet Christmas treat for all of us. However, this whole series of events is very edifying for several other reasons, including because it confirms how robust the Battlestar Galactica It still is fandom. Peacock’s planned reboot may be deader than Starbuck, but it’s great to know there’s still so much passion for the 2003 show that helped make Tricia Helfer famous.
Speaking of the actress, you can’t watch any of this without realizing what a graceful and elegant performer she really is. Tricia Helfer didn’t have to answer at all, let alone make our heads explode by dusting off her red dress. Over two decades after Ronald D. Moores Battlestar Galactica At the premiere, Helfer proved that she still has a lot of respect for the passionate fans who helped put the show on the map.
The only downside to all this is that Barry Armstrong makes us question our lazy holidays. It feels like all we’ve done is stuff our faces and catch up on the DVR, and this man is out here building life-sized replicas that would put most Hollywood props to shame. Now, however, we may have the greatest motivation of all to do something meaningful with our lives: the knowledge that, if it’s cool enough, Tricia Helfer might be able to make a recording sexy video just for us.
