Morocco recorded an average precipitation of 113.9 mm from September 1, 2024 to March 19, 2025, which corresponds to an excess of 88.1% compared to the previous year (60 mm), but a deficit of 18.3% compared to the annual average (139.3 mm), according to the Mustapha -Baitas responsible for responsibility with the parliament, state spokesman.
Significant rainfalls have been observed since February 22, which exceeded the average of 2024 by 130%, which contributed to alleviating the water deficit and improving the deductions from the dams.
The total volume of the water absorption is estimated at 2,981 million m³, which shows a deficit of 60.5% compared to the annual average, but a surplus of 57.5% compared to the previous year.
The snowfall in several regions has also brought 1,712 million m² of water since February 1, which brought the retention rate of the dams from 27% to 36% (6.12 billion m³) to March 20, 2025.
