Back to the careful yoga – bionicoldguy

Every night I do a stretch routine that is partly based on what I have recorded in books and classes about yoga, and partly on physical therapy exercises that I have accumulated based on rehab from various diseases or injuries. I think it is much more relaxed and pleasant if I do it carefully and pay attention to every exercise instead of watching away at the same time. I recommended this as a coping strategy Here Back while Covid.

Unfortunately, I tend to get out of this habit when there is something particularly interesting on TV. The last time this was during the NBA playoffs last year. If you come first, there is a big deficit to see games. So I decide that it is temporarily okay to watch her while I stretched. But the playoffs ended last June and I was no longer made careful. So much for the excuse “temporarily”.

In the past few days I have restored my mindful stretch and confirmed again how relaxed it is. Hopefully next time I can fight the excuses.

This incident motivated me to read more about mindful yoga, and I found books about it on Amazon. So I tried it The practice of careful yoga by Hannah Ross. This is a good book with lots of good tips to give your routine mindfulness. However, I would only be recommended for those who already have a yoga or stretch routine. Hannah gives a proposed routine at the end of the book, but the instructions are only in the text, no pictures that are difficult to learn for beginners.
