Azzedine Feraoun from Morocco and Gebane Senbeted from Ethiopia won the first edition of the international spiritual marathon organized by Dila Athletic Association.
Azzedine Feraoun completed the 42 km in 2h 18m 54S, followed by Hicham Sadouq and the Kenyan Erick Ndiemalwon. On the side of the women, Yelane Senbete ended in 2h 39m 5s.
In the half marathon (21 km) the Kenyan Meshack Kimutm won in 1h 5m 18S, while Kenyer Korir Irine Chepchirchir won the female race in 1h 15 m 34s.
For the 10 km race, Jamal Hitran finished first with 29 m 10. In addition, this first edition brought together more than 4,000 runners from 26 countries to promote FEZ as a sports and tourist destination.
