A dog that went missing in Tennessee will be reunited with his family after he was found injured in a ravine on Wednesday.
A Tennessee Department of Transportation Crews were in the process of removing a tree from the 2400 block of State Route 48 in the town of Dickson when they “heard a noise coming from a nearby stream,” the agency said on Facebook.
While investigating the noise, workers found an injured dog stuck in a ravine, prompting them to alert a nearby Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper on a traffic call and ask him for help.

The TDOT crew, the police officer, employees of the power company Dickson Electric and a private citizen joined forces Save the puppy.
They created a makeshift stretcher to safely lift him out of the ravine and took him to the Humane Society of Dickson County (HSDC) for treatment of his injuries.

According to HSDC, a TDOT employee also returned to the shelter a few hours later to donate a pallet of dog food.
“We have been told the dog is being treated and we hope for a speedy recovery,” TDOT said on Facebook. “We are grateful to the employees who were willing and able to answer the call for help.”
Tennessee Highway Patrol On Wednesday, he posted bodycam video of the dog’s rescue on Facebook, calling him “Trooper” and asking for help finding his family.
Through the power of social media, the dog — whose real name is Apollo — was recognized and his owner contacted DCHS, the shelter said Wednesday evening.
