According to security sources cited by Hesport, Raja of Casablanca fans are banned from traveling to Berkane for the match between the two teams scheduled for Sunday, December 29.
Security sources confirmed to Hesport that a regional meeting was held in Berkane today to review the security and organizational aspects of the match between Berkane Renaissance and Raja de Casablanca.
The match, scheduled for Sunday as part of the 16th Botola Day, has prompted local authorities to impose a travel ban on Raja fans.
According to the same sources, the decision will be forwarded to the Wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region for implementation. It is made clear that the ban not only affects group tours, but also any presence of Raja supporters in the Berkane municipal stadium.
The reasons given for the ban are threats and previous incidents of violence between the two teams in Berkane. These events prompted the authorities to take this preventive measure.
The game will pit Berkane Renaissance, leaders with 33 points (10 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat), and Raja Casablanca, currently sixth with 23 points (6 wins, 5 draws, 3 defeats). The match marks the first day of the second phase of the Botola Pro.
