At least 29 dead in South Korea plane crash at Muan airport: report | News

The crash occurred as the Jeju Air plane landed at Muan International Airport in South Korea.

According to the Yonhap news agency, a passenger plane veered off the runway and crashed at an airport in the South Korean city of Muan. At least 29 people died.

The accident occurred on Sunday when the Jeju Air plane landed at Muan International Airport, Yonhap reported.

It was carrying 175 passengers and six flight attendants and was flying back from Thailand.

Photos shared by local media showed thick clouds of black smoke rising from the plane.

South Korea’s incumbent President Choi Sang-moo has ordered “a general effort for rescue operations” in Muan, according to Yonhap.

Two people were found alive while the rescue mission is still ongoing, the agency reported.
