Arsenal has confirmed that the striker Kai Havertz is operated on for a thigh injury and is faced with a fight to be fit for the start of the next season.
Germany International suffered the injury in the mid-season break of the Gunners in Dubai and will go under the knife in the coming days.
His absence for the rest of this campaign is a big blow for Arsenal, which is already without a variety of attack options.

– Arsenal (@Arsenal) February 13, 2025
The explanation was: “We can confirm that Kai Havertz suffered a thigh injury last week during a training session in Dubai.
“The following reviews and specialist reports have confirmed that the injury will require an operation that will take place in the coming days. Shortly after the operation, Kai will begin his recovery and rehabilitation program, which is expected to be expanded to prepare for the next season.
“Everyone in the club fully focuses on supporting Kai to ensure that they are back in full fitness as soon as possible.”
Arsenal’s main string threat
Havertz played the role of Arsenal’s main striker for a large part of the season, although he had briefly returned to midfield when Gabriel Jesus was preferred in the attack.
However, since the Brazilian lasts an anteriore cruciate ligament injury last month, Havertz was used again on the field with mixed results.
The German international scored 15 goals and added five templates in 34 appearances in all competitions this season, but also missed 15 great opportunities in the Premier League, the third most frequently next to Chelseas Nicolas Jackson and behind Manchester Citys Erling (18) and Aston Villas Ollie Watkins (19).
Watkins was the subject of an Arsenal 60 million pound bid towards the end of the transfer window, but Villa chose the English international and instead sold Jhon Duran to the Saudi Arabic side al-Nassr.
Another blow to the Gunners
Arsenal suffered from injuries in attack areas all season.
The English winger Bukayo Saka resigned in Dubai, but is only expected in March, while Gabriel Martinelli is also traveling with a thigh problem for a month.
Arsenal is second in the Premier League, seven points behind the leaders Liverpool and on Saturday to Leicester City.
