Mikel Areta insists that Arsenal is “winning here” against Girona, although she only needs a tie to secure the qualification for the Champions League last 16.
The Gunners are currently sitting in the overall ranking over the final round on Wednesday evening with a three -point buffer in the top eight.
With five victories, a draw and a defeat that are away from their seven European games this semester, the men from Areteta only need one point against the Spanish side to guarantee a place in the top night. Girona is now proud of her hopes for an already eliminated Knockout location.
Since a victory is likely to ensure a higher end position and therefore a cheaper raffle in the past 16 years, Areta insists that all their efforts will go to secure the other three points.
“We are here to win the game,” he said in his press conference before the game.
“We have to be better than you.
“They are a really good team when you look at the games they played against top opposition in the Champions League, they made life very difficult for them.
“Tomorrow it will be a very strong team to achieve what we want to do because mathematically qualifying is uncertain at the moment.”
A victory on Wednesday evening would be Arsenal’s fourth in a row, while the North Londoners want to win successive victories in the Champions League for the first time since 2016.
It is a strong improvement compared to your fights that you meet last season on your travels, where you lost to Lens, Porto and Bayern Munich.
When improving the away games this semester, Areta said: “We are more consistent and I think we have better understood that it is extremely difficult to win and surpass the opposition in the Champions League.
“Tomorrow we will look for a very good opposition and we have to be very good to beat her.
“Every game, every scenario, every context will be different. It comes here when we need something from the game and we are here to win. From the first minute, the attitude and determination will be to choose again and hopefully win the game. “
