Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in New York have arrested a man born in Mexico illegal immigrant who sexually abused a child after being expelled from the country five times.

According to ICE, the criminal immigrant, 36-year-old Raymond Rojas Basilio, sexually abused an 11-year-old child in the United States

Rojas committed this crime after being expelled from the country five times and then re-entering at an unknown time and place without being admitted by an immigration official.

The New York Police Department arrested Rojas on August 28, 2023. He was subsequently convicted on September 20, 2024 in Kings County Superior Court in Brooklyn of forcibly touching the private parts of an 11-year-old victim. The court sentenced him to 60 days in prison, six years probation and required him to register as a sex offender.

New York ICE Enforcement and Removal Actions Then on December 17, agents arrested Rojas outside his residence in Queens.

U.S. Border Patrol first arrested Rojas near Douglas, Arizona, in May 2002 after three separate attempts to enter the U.S. illegally.

Border protection Officers then arrested Rojas again on January 6, 2012, at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, Arizona, as he attempted to enter the country using a fake Arizona driver’s license and U.S. birth certificate. Just days later, on Jan. 11, border authorities deported Rojas again after he attempted to enter the country using forged documents at another port of entry in Nogales.

Commenting on the arrest, Kenneth Genalo, Director of the New York ICE Field Office, said: “This criminal has repeatedly demonstrated a complete lack of respect for the laws of our country, as evidenced by his repeated attempts to enter the United States illegally or fraudulently. becomes clear.”

“As this case demonstrates, one successful unlawful entry is enough to cause irreparable harm to a member of our community,” he continued.

He said that on the spot “Politics of non-cooperation” Current law had prevented ICE from immediately taking Rojas into custody after his conviction in the Brooklyn court.

“However, thanks to the diligence of our officers, ERO New York City was able to quickly identify this threat to public safety before it could harm other New Yorkers,” Genalo said.

According to the statement, Rojas is currently in ICE custody awaiting deportation to Mexico.
