Rabat organized the start of the regional AMCOW consultations for North Africa on Tuesday this Tuesday and brought together representatives of the Member States. This meeting, which is essential for the development of an African vision of water after 2025, marks the beginning of strategic discussions about sustainable water management and sanitary facilities in Africa.
The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, confirmed the commitment of Morocco to create “considerable added value” during his vice president of Amcow, which emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in order to define solutions that are adapted to specific challenges of the sub -region. The conclusions of this meeting will meet the work of the 3rd African conference on the implementation and partnership (Panafcon-3) in Lusaka.
This consultation is crucial to formulate a common vision of water in Africa by integrating financial, technological and governance solutions and promoting young people and women. A special focus is on the need for adapted financing, which is estimated at 64 billion US dollars a year and the strengthening of research and cooperation between public institutions and the academic world.
