Allison Holker’s latest interview sparks backlash
In a recent interview with People magazineHolker spoke about her deeply personal memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light,” set to be released on February 8th. The book chronicles her emotional journey through grief while conveying a message of hope and resilience to those facing similar issues.
Holker revealed that she had been working on the memoir for years but put the project on hold after Boss’s death. Now she feels ready to share her story with the world. The decision to share intimate details of Boss’s life, including references to his mental health issues, has sparked controversy.

tWitch’s cousin Darielle, shared a post on Xthe social media platform formerly known as Twitter to express, “I’m so tired of keeping my mouth shut, bro. You made our family so dirty.”
In a separate postDarielle claimed that Holker required her and tWitch’s family to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in order to attend his funeral and has since prevented them from seeing his children. “Yeah, I don’t know anything about a non-disclosure agreement. This crazy woman made me and his actual family sign a non-disclosure agreement just to even attend the funeral,” she wrote. “She tried to tarnish his legacy and refuses to show the Boss family the children. Just to take advantage and lie to my cousin. Hell no.”

tWitch’s Family criticizes Allison Holker
Former “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Courtney Ann Platt also publicly criticized Holker in an emotional Instagram post, calling the memoir “tasteless, classless and opportunistic” and calling Holker a “bulldozer.”
“This is by far the tackiest, most classless and opportunistic act I have ever seen in my life,” Platt wrote. “You are a living, breathing bulldozer. Stay with your own demons. Shame on you Allison, shame on your greedy team. Let my friend rest in peace.”

To add to the tension, Boss’ brother Dré Rose expressed disappointment at what he described as a lack of communication between Holker and Boss’ family. “We have found a worrying lack of communication and involvement around children’s activities and wellbeing,” he said in a statement. “It is disheartening that her interactions with her grandmother and wider family have been noticeably reduced.”

While Holker didn’t directly address Platts or Rose’s comments, she did respond to a fellow dancer, Kelly Gibson, who expressed her sadness over the public backlash. “This whole thing has made me sad. He’s gone. Why tear this name apart? That paycheck wasn’t worth bringing his name into disrepute,” Gibson commented People‘s Instagram post.
Holker replied: “I will always love you. I just try to make people feel safe asking for help and support.”
Since the backlash began, Holker has also shared supportive messages from fans and mental health advocates on her Instagram Stories. One post said: “I’m sharing this powerful message to remind us all how important it is to have open conversations about mental health.”

In her recent interview with PeopleThe 36-year-old dancer and television personality opened up about a heartbreaking discovery she made while preparing for tWitch’s funeral with a close friend.
“I was with one of my really dear friends and we were cleaning out the closet and picking out an outfit for him to wear to the funeral,” Holker revealed. “It was a really triggering moment for me because I discovered a lot of things in our closet that I didn’t know existed. It was very disturbing for me to learn that so much was happening that I had no idea about. .”
