Doha -In an enemy cyber attack on Tuesday, an Algerian hacking group, which mentioned as a “Jabaroot”, took over responsibility for the violation of the official website of the Moroccian Ministry of Economic Integration, the Small Business, Employment and Skills.
In a statement, the group claimed that the attack was “in response to the Moroccan harassment of the official Algerian social media sites”. Especially you quoted Blocking the APS account (Algerian Press Service) on platform X as an excuse for the cyber attack.
The enemy actors published what they described as “important data” in their telegram channel, including the “salary declaration of forms” Moroccan employees.
In addition, the attackers published a provocative map of North Africa that deliberately misrepresented the territorial integrity of Morocco.
The region of the western Sahara represented its misleading map as separate from Morocco, while it described it with the self -proclaimed republic of the separatists Polisario Front and shows the Nordmorocco under Algerian influence.
Moroccan expert Hassan Kherjouj Had output An early warning of the susceptibility of the Moroccan Ministry concerned for such an attack.
In a Facebook post dated April 3, Kherjouj describes specific technical problems related to the WordPress configuration files on the website, especially with regard to the “Public_HTML/WP-Includes/Class WPDB.PHP” file, the database interactions.
In his technical analysis, he outlined three potential security scenarios: “1. SQL injection attacks, 2nd file change (backdoors & malware), 3. Remote code version.” He warned that “mere knowledge about the name of the database file is a serious problem for itself.”
Algerian media claimed that their hackers had “managed to publish millions of data points that mainly refer to the names and salaries of Moroccan citizens”, including the CNS’s declaration of salary.
The cyber attack has temporarily disturbed Access to the ministry’s digital platform, although Moroccan citizens are unable to access the services of the website.
According to reports, Moroccan hackers have started counter-operations “On the Algerian government websites and on websites of the separatist polisario front”.
At the time of the pressure, the ministry did not submit an official statement on the incident or checked the authenticity of the allegedly leaked data. The website remains suspended and inaccessible to users.
