Akhannouch speaks to the BM Vice President of the Mena region


The government manager, Aziz Akhannouch, met on Monday in Rabat with the Vice President of the World Bank for the region of the Middle East and in North Africa (Mena) Ousmane Dione. The discussions focused on the means of strengthening the strategic partnership between Morocco and the World Bank Group “to strengthen their support for development priorities arrested by the kingdom”.

Morocco and the institution have also taken over an inventory of the structural reforms initiated by the government in accordance with the high royal guidelines and discussed the various programs that made it possible for him to preserve the macroeconomic credit and consolidate the resilience of the “national national” economy , said a press release from the Ministry of the District.

In this way, the government manager praised “the efforts of the World Bank to support development projects in our country, in accordance with the priorities arrested by the government program, in particular the opening of the International Financial Institute in agreement with the enlightened royal vision”.

The two parties mentioned the various areas in which the World Bank expressed its disposal to support the kingdom (employment, water security, digital transition, energy, blue economy, recovery of human capital …). The meeting was also an opportunity to mention the prospects of the partnership with regard to the support of BM of projects that are planned for important international events as part of the preparations of the kingdom, in particular projects in connection with the strengthening of infrastructures and connectivity.

Morocco and the BM group have been associated with privileged partnership relationships from 1960, which have since made it possible to mobilize more than $ 27.12 billion for the support of several projects in various development sectors in the kingdom, the press release concluded.
