AGR: Budget deficit at 60.9 mmdh, online with the LF-2024


According to Attijari Global Research (AGR), the budget deficit was 6.9 billion dirhams (MMDH) in 2024 or 3.9% of GDP. This level remains the forecasts of the 2024 Finance Act, which expected a deficit of 62 MMDH.

This service is explained by a good execution rate of decent income and achieves 110%. Company and income tax revenues have exceeded expectations, with the performance rates of 117% and 114% being achieved. The VAT also generated 12.4 mmdh more than in 2023.

On the output side, the execution rate was checked at 108%, partly thanks to a waste of 4.6 mmdh waste. At the same time, public investments over 117 MMDH, a performance rate of 117%, exceeded, which confirmed the commitment to economic development.

Finally, the ordinary balance exceeded the forecasts of the LF-2024 of 32.5 mmdh and achieved more than 62 mmdh for 30.2 mmdh in 2023, which, despite a demanding economic context, reflects an improvement in public finances.
