Rabat – Today, the African network of national human rights institutions (Nanhri) Amina Bouayach, President of the National Human Rights Council of Morocco (CNDH), nominated for the presidency of the global alliance of national human rights institutions (Ganhri).
The announcement found during the general assembly of Nanhri in the UN headquarters in Geneva. confirm Africa’s trust in Bouayach’s leadership.
Nanhri had presented her nomination in January and cited her experience as a secretary of Ganhris.
The network described it as a guide who has controlled critical initiatives with strategic insights and at the same time started human rights at the highest international level.
“She represented the alliance with the award and led important operations to human rights with a firm obligation,” said Nanhri in his official explanation.
Joseph Whittal, President of Nanhri and Head of Ghana’s Human Rights Institution, said that the African block is firmly to support Bouayach. “We mostly voted in favor of their nomination,” he said.
Gilbert Sebihogo, Executive Director of Nanhris, shared the same view. “She carried Africa’s voice with integrity. We trust her to continue this work at the head of Ganhri. ”
Namizata Sangaré, President of the National Human Rights Institution of the Ivory Coast, described the nomination as a natural step. “In Nanhri we have no doubt that it will serve Ganhri with excellence,” she said.
This strong confirmation reflected Africa’s determination to play a leading role in global human rights efforts.
