Extensive announced several key milestones achieved to date: $10 billion in total revenue for its mobile games and one billion downloads across its portfolio.
Exclusively for GamesBeat: Scopely said These milestones were achieved in 2024 and its players have also logged more than 15 billion hours of gaming time to date.
Players have spent those hours in the Los Angeles-based company’s games Monopoly Go!, Stumble Guys, Marvel Strike Force, Star Trek Fleet Command And Dice with friends.
I’ve written about the launch of each of these games and Scopely covered it from the start. I’ve always found the approach to working with game developers smart and the approach to acquiring users interesting. But it was one of many mobile game companies and its success was never guaranteed. It took the wild success of Monopoly Go! – six years in development – and the $4.9 billion acquisition by Savvy Games Group to solidify its lead.
Scopely’s momentum is hard to ignore. The brand is now the leading mobile gaming company in the US and is in the top 5 worldwide outside of China.
From humble beginnings to global powerhouse
Scopely COO Eunice Lee spoke at the recent GamesBeat Insider Series: Hollywood and Games event on December 12 about how the company became successful with its Scopely “operating system” and “learning machine.”
Scopely’s success didn’t happen overnight. In fact, the development took more than thirteen years.
In a recent company blog, co-CEOs Walter Driver and Javier reflect on the company’s milestones
Ferreira acknowledged the long – and sometimes painful – journey, writing: “While we a

Founded in Los Angeles in 2011, Scopely is based on the deep-rooted belief that mobile phones
were the next big forum for entertainment. With just 10 employees, the company launched its first cult game, “Dice With Buddies,” in May of its founding year.

The social dice game got off to a good start and attracted an engaged audience. It wasn’t until 2014 that
The franchise really took off after Scopely secured one of its first major IP partnerships: a deal with Hasbro

The company itself has also grown exponentially. With more than 2,400 employees and offices in over one
Across dozens of countries, Scopely has developed a range of games covering almost every genre and platform.
Aim for a cross-platform future

While the company’s roots lie in mobile entertainment, it’s also about pushing the boundaries of cross-platform gaming
Part of Scopely’s ongoing strategy. 2024 marked the game maker’s first attempt at launching a mobile game.
Console product with “Stumble Guys” for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
“We had many firsts this year where our teams made great efforts to drive innovation for our players,” Driver and Ferreira wrote.
Stumble Guys fans are no longer tied to a single device to play the party battle royale game, and
Android and iOS users can now interact seamlessly with console players. As a result, the company
has added millions to Stumblers’ engaged and active global community.
Driver and Javier point out that we can expect more platform-independent games from Scopely in the future.
In recognition of Stumble Guys’ console push, it “also created opportunities for other Scopely teams.”
Deliver experiences on new platforms.”
The Scopely culture

Scopely attributes much of its success over the past thirteen years to its unique work culture, driven by…
Ambition, the acceptance of failure and, above all, the commitment to learning.
Early on in its founding, Driver and his team established important cultural principles that continue to shape the way Scopely operates today
Today the motto is: play to win; worry deeply; ignite passion and gain loyalty; iterate to size; And
Embrace the adventure.
According to its co-CEOs, these principles enabled Scopely to win over 100 awards this year – the most
in the company’s history. Awards included Mobile Game Maker #1 on PocketGamer.biz’s Top 50 list,
Best Publisher by PocketGamer.biz and GamingOnPhone, Game of the Year for Monopoly Go! And
The 100 most influential companies in the world in Time Magazine.
As Lee noted in her fireside chat with gaming veteran Shelby Moledina, Scopely’s leadership often cites the company’s learning machine culture – which relies on open communication to quickly share insights between teams – as a reason why the game developer have been able to grow so quickly and gain a variety of genres and platforms and are breaking new ground when it comes to sales metrics.
But Ferreira and Driver are quick to acknowledge that Scopely’s goal goes far beyond balance
Blatt: “While sales performance can be an indicator of success, it is not the reason we do this work. Everyone
Scopelean shows up every day to playfully improve the lives of millions of people.
This commitment, in turn, gives us the freedom to invest in new opportunities, new games and new things
