On November 28th Etermax started Trivia Crack World about Meta Quest as a new virtual reality game that takes players to an immersive and interactive amusement park, combining knowledge, fun and global connections across VR headsets, desktops and mobile devices. Trivia Crack World is the first immersive trivia game on Meta Quest, offering a dynamic and addictive experience for casual gamers, trivia enthusiasts and families alike. Set in a vibrant, knowledge-themed amusement park, players can interact with Trivia Crack’s popular characters in real time. Each character like Willy the Wheel has their own thematic island. Willy the Wheel also serves as the park’s grand host, opening its doors with Hector’s Museum, Albert’s Lab and Tito’s Safari.
The goal of Trivia Crack World is to present a refreshing alternative to typical VR titles, said Federico Segovia, head of product at Etermax in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in an interview with GamesBeat.
“We didn’t just translate the mobile version. The advantage of VR is that you can create an immersive world where people can meet in real time. You can customize the experience, choose your language and the difficulty level of the questions,” Segovia said.
The development of Trivia Crack World was done 100% in-house by Etermax, from the game itself to the soundtrack, Segovia said. While Etermax has more than 300 people, the VR game involved a team of more than 20 people, including designers, programmers and others.
Etermax’s extended team of employees also supported the project throughout the development of the launch plan, which includes an integrated advertising and commercial strategy. In addition, the support of the Meta team in its advertising channels played a crucial role.
Trivia Crack World aims to bring the fun of a trivia night with friends and family into your living room. Players ages 13 and up can participate in various quiz challenges and explore trending topics in multiple languages while interacting with a global online community.
Adaptation to VR
Segovia, a game designer since 2016 and now head of product at Etermax, worked on the project last year. The company assembled a team familiar with family gaming, casual gaming, mobile gaming, VR technology, and a variety of audiences.
“It was exciting for me since I was a VR player on Meta Quest,” Segovia said. “We wanted to take trivia to the next level. It is an adaptation of the mobile version of Trivia Crack, but everything has been redesigned. The interaction takes place in real time and therefore the social aspect of the game is strong.”
While VR is often an isolated form of entertainment, trivia is inherently more social. Therefore, it made sense to create a multiplayer version of the quiz game in addition to a solo game version.
“The drive of the main game is open play, where people who don’t know each other can come together and play,” Segovia said.
The VR version also includes user-generated questions, similar to the mobile version, where players can create more local content relevant to their own city or country.
“During the development of the game, we worked a lot with the core community to get feedback, such as building an attraction for the outdoor club,” Segovia said. “We wanted the game to stand out from the competition in the store.
“We have always enjoyed challenges,” Segovia said. “We were pioneers with our quiz game and made it one of the best in the mobile stores. With VR, the market started to get interesting about three years ago,” said Segovia. “We decided that VR will be very important for consumers in the future. So we’re taking that first step to get there.”
While many people think that VR hardware only appeals to hardcore gamers, there are plenty of casual games available in the top VR stores. The content includes casual, midcore and hardcore games. Even though the market is still in its infancy, VR games have been so successful that they are supporting a number of medium-sized game studios such as Schell Games and Resolution Games.

Amusement park expansion with new updates
The popular Trivia Crack franchise has now added new themed attractions and a new area where players can stimulate their curiosity and enjoy exciting challenges hosted by the game’s characters.
Just in time for Christmas, players can explore two new immersive attractions: Tito’s Safari and Albert’s Lab, as well as an expanded experience at Hector’s Museum. Each adventure challenges players with interactive quests hosted by the game’s legendary characters.
