With Trump on the rise, NATO chief Rutte stresses Ukraine’s “urgently needed” support

During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Brussels, NATO chief Mark Rutte on Wednesday called on member states to increase their military support for Kiev to improve Ukraine’s image over the next month. Donald Trump, who will be sworn in as US president on January 20, has claimed he will end the war against Russia in 24 hours, raising concerns that he will force struggling Ukraine to strike a deal from a position of weakness to negotiate.
