The President of Poland has asked the United States to transfer nuclear weapons to the area as a deterrent against future Russian aggression, a request that is probably perceived as very provocative in Moscow.

Andrzej Duda said that it was ā€œobviousā€ that President Donald Trump could use the US atom warheads stored in Western Europe or in the USA in Poland.

ā€œThe borders of NATO moved to the east in 1999, so 26 years later there should also be a shift in the NATO infrastructure to the east. This is obvious to me, ā€said Duda in an interview with the Financial Times. ā€œI think itā€™s not just that the time came, but that it would be safer if these weapons were already here.ā€

Duda hopes to revive a nuclear sharing project, which he presented unsuccessfully to the former administration of former President Joe Biden in 2022. The communist regime in Poland housed the Soviet nuclear warheads during the Cold War, but the definition of such weapons near Russiaā€™s borders ā€“ this time under US control ā€“ would be regarded as a serious threat by the Kremlin.

Duda said that it was to Trump to decide where we should use US atom weapons, but remembered President Vladimir Putinā€™s announcement in 2023 that Russia would move tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, Moscow, in the invasion of Ukraine to the Ukraine invasion.

ā€œRussia did not even hesitate when they moved their nuclear weapons to Belarus,ā€ said Duda. ā€œYou didnā€™t ask anyone for permission.ā€

Dudaā€™s reputation to organize nuclear weapons Poland ā€“ shared with other countries in its region ā€“ about Russia that develop on the peace negotiations with the Ukraine mediated by Trump.

Duda, who is also commander -in -chief of the Poland Forces, repeated Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk when he said that the country alternatively expanded better protection against the idea of President Emmanuel Macron, the French ā€œnuclear rainyā€ to report on European allies.

But Duda released cold water on Tuskā€™s suggestion last week that Poland could develop its own nuclear arsenal. ā€œIn order to have our own nuclear ability, I think it would take decades,ā€ said the president.

Duda also said that he could not imagine Trump to make a U-turn in the obligation that he used during her meeting last month to maintain the US troops in Poland.

ā€œConsidering that the United States withdraw its military presence from Poland are not justified. We are a credible ally for the USA and you also have your own strategic interests here, ā€he said.

The Polish President also said that he had not regarded Trump as a Pro-Moskauer negotiations to force Kyiv to no longer fight.

ā€œThis is not a sensitive diplomacy, this is a hard game, but in my opinion it is not that President Trump is only nice and gentle with Russia,ā€ said Duda. ā€œI think he uses instruments against Russia, although it may not be as loud and visible as the one he uses against Ukraine.ā€

ā€œSo far, nobody has managed to stop this war, so we give President Trump a chance.ā€

Last weekend, the Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski with the US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and Trumpā€™s ally Elon Musk found on social media about the access of Ukraine to Musk Starlink satellite system, with Musk Sikorski as a ā€œlittle manā€. The Tusk entered to call up the allies of Poland to respect weaker partners and not the arrogance.

Instead, Duda criticized Sikorski for a ā€œcompletely unnecessaryā€ intervention over Starlink. ā€œThey do not discuss with the American administration on Twitter, they do that through diplomatic channels,ā€ he said.

Duda, a candidate of the opposition Law and Justice (PIS), has won Tuskā€™s coalition in Loggerheads since their winning elections in 2023.

When asked whether Trumpā€™s government could influence the Polish presidential elections in May, Duda said that he was ā€œconvinced that Poland will make their own decisionsā€. However, he was concerned about a competitive election result, as in Romania, since the judges also have to validate the Polish results.

ā€œThere is no doubt that we are currently dealing with a very serious constitutional crisis in Poland,ā€ said Duda. ā€œWhat happened in Romania is very worrying and does not meet European democratic standards.ā€

The Romanian Constitutional Court banned the right -wing right -wing candidate Călin Georgescu after annuling his victory in the first round after benefiting from an illegal campaign in Moscow.

The Polish President accused the European Commission of facing the institutional conflict in Poland around his eye after he had supposedly took ā€œmany measuresā€ to bring the tusks back to power in 2023.

ā€œThe European Commission now pretends not to see that,ā€ said Duda. ā€œAnd do you know why? This is because Prime Minister Tusk is a member of the same European party as most members of the European Commission, together with his president (Ursula von der Leyen). ā€œ
