The national observatory for the rights of the child (wave), chaired by Sar Princess Lalla Meryem, started the child’s first psycho-trauma cells (CPTE) in the cities of Fez, Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir and Oujda.
These cells, which were launched on the edge of the training as an emergency psychotraumatology, organized by the wave in favor of 92 child psychiatrists and psychologists and provided by Gaelle Abgrall, President of the French network of medical psychological emergency cells (Cump) and offered psychological support and supported adapted children’s victims according to a natural human disaster. They will listen to targeted people and make therapeutic support necessary to preserve their mental health and prevent frequent psychiatric disorders that could result from trauma.
By awarding teachers in child psychiatry at the head of psycho-trauma cells in several major cities of the kingdom, the wave intends to strengthen the national system and to improve the coordination between the actors involved in the observing of the Ministry of Health and social protection. Note that the introduction of the CPTs is added to a number of wave measures to contribute to the protection of the mental health of children. Among other things, the introduction on February 21 of the network of psychologists from the hearing center and the child’s psychological management under the wave (2511).
A total of 105 specialists for mental health professions from all regions of Morocco have been trained in the first children’s psycho-trauma module (75 leaders of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and 30 Psychologists and Pediatric Psychiatrics) since the establishment of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and 30 psychologists and pedopsychiatrics.
