Rabat – The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) and the Directorate General for National Security (DGSN) have introduced a new training of coaches (dead) to strengthen human rights protection in law enforcement.
The first session planned for February 24 focuses on migration and international obligations in Morocco in relation to the rights of migrants.
The training is held in Rabat in the CNDH headquarters and will bring 20 law enforcement officers and human rights experts together to examine important questions related to migration.
The program will cover international legal framework, including international convention on the protection of the rights of all workers and members of their families, the global compact compact for migration and national legislation.
Discussions will also treat the Morocco engagement with UN contract bodies, national migration and asylum policy as well as opportunities to organize the law enforcement authorities with international human rights standards.
The training reflects the continuous efforts to integrate human rights principles into police work.
By equipping managers about legal obligations and best practices, the program wants to improve interactions with migrants and ensure better compliance with national and international standards.
The participants will examine real cases, analyze current challenges and discuss strategies to protect migrant rights and at the same time maintain public security.
This initiative extends previous training efforts as part of the CNDH DGSN partnership, which initially focused on preventing torture.
It is part of an institutional cooperation agreement signed on September 14, 2022, which aims to improve the training and capacity structure of law enforcement.
By strengthening human rights in police training, the program aims to improve professional standards, promote accountability and to support the larger larger Morocco Efforts Regulations that protect the rights of all citizens regardless of the status of the migrant.
