The kick -off of the 7th edition of the international trade fair “Halieutis”, which was organized under the high patronage of SM Le Roi Mohammed VI, was awarded on Wednesday in Agadir, head of the government, Aziz Akhannouch. This international meeting, which is made under the topic of “research and innovation for a sustainable fishing sector”, has France as a guest of honor. The aim is to make scientific research a strategic lever to ensure the sustainability of fishing resources and the competitiveness of Moroccan companies.
The show, which is opened until February 9, welcomes 523 exhibitors who represent 54 countries, including 4 countries that take part in this trade fair, South Korea, the United Kingdom, India and the Sultanate of ‘Oman. The maritime fishing sector remains very important in the economy. In 2024, national production reached 1.42 million tons in 2023.
During the kick of this event, the government manager carried out a tour in the five poles of the show: institutional, international assessment and process, fleet and equipment and aquaculture. He remembered the ambition of Morocco under the enlightened leadership of SM King Mohammed VI in order to develop the industries associated with the sector, which strongly to create employment opportunities, to strengthen the attractiveness of Morocco and to open for foreign investments and opening and opening Investments and foreign facilities and the opening of foreign investments and the opening will develop future partnerships in this area.
