Electrical networking Morocco-Mauritane: Onee and Somelec seal the agreement

The electrical connection project between Morocco and Mauritania takes shape. This project, which was launched according to high royal orientations, knows his first steps with the signing this Tuesday, January 4, in Nouakchott about the agreement on the development and implementation of the project.

This agreement was concluded by the CEO of the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (Onee), Tarik Hamane, at the top of a delegation of officials from the Office and his counterpart Sidi Salem Mohaned Elabd, CEO of the Mauritanian Electricity Company (somelec). The project will further strengthen the reliability of the electrical networks of the two countries, improve their performance and facilitate the exchange of electrical energy between Morocco and Mauritania as well as between Europe and West Africa as part of WAPP (West Afranic electrical energy exchange system). It is part of the Atlantic Royal Initiative, which aims to strengthen African integration and to promote South-South cooperation. After signing the agreement, the technical teams from Onee and Somelec immediately started concert work as part of the implementation of the project.
