Roommates, it looks like Sexy red is in the hot seat with the King family. On Monday (January 20) the rapper shared an AI-generated photo of Martin Luther King Jr. on her social media to celebrate his holiday. So, Bernice King made it clear that she wasn’t feeling Sexyy’s chosen image!
Not only did she call her out on social media on Jan. 21, but the activist’s daughter also called on the rapper to remove the fake photo.
“This is intentionally disgusting, dishonoring, regrettable and disrespectful to my family and my father, who is not here to answer for himself because he was murdered for standing up for your civil and human rights and for ending war and poverty. Please delete,” Bernice King wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
As mentioned, the photo of Sexyy Red and Martin Luther King Jr. was an AI product. It showed Martin holding hands with Sexyy as they looked at each other. It’s unclear whether the post included a caption, as the rapper apparently removed the photo from her X account on Tuesday evening. Swipe down to see the image.
That wasn’t the only photo Sexy took with Dr. King shared. She also posted another AI-generated image showing herself standing next to Martin Luther King Jr. at a fake protest. Her caption read: “Happy MLK Day!!” This post is still available on the X profile.

Bernice King explains her commentary on Sexyy Red
A little over an hour after her initial post, Bernice King returned to watch the trolls echo her words. She made it clear that her call was not a personal attack. Instead, she explained that the AI-generated image of her father and the like confused her.
“Please don’t project your thoughts onto me. I don’t think Sexyy Red is a “degenerate”, a “ghetto” or a “trash”. I have spoken in the past about using and comparing one of my parents to denigrate other people. I just don’t understand this way of using my father’s image (at least on #MLKDay) in a way that doesn’t convey what we know about his service and sacrifice. Even if you don’t agree with him or his tactics or even believe things people who hated him have said about him, why do you do that?”
Please don’t project your thoughts onto me. I don’t think Sexyy Red is a “degenerate,” “ghetto,” or “trash.” I have spoken in the past about abusing and comparing one of my parents to denigrate other people.

Although Sexyy Red appears to have removed the photo at Bernice King’s request, he has not commented on the call. Instead, she continues to post as usual and evenly on X and other social platforms responds to a specific request by Bruno Mars!
