Netflix plans now cost between $8 and $25 after another subscription price increase

Netflix has published its earnings results for the fourth quarter of 2024. While many of the results seem like good news for the company’s shareholders, such as an operating profit of more than $10 billion and a 16 percent increase in revenue, there is a catch to its viewers. Starting today, subscription prices are increasing again.

“As we continue to invest in programming and provide more value to our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can reinvest to continue improving Netflix,” the company said in its shareholder statement . “To that end, today we are adjusting prices for most plans in the United States, Canada, Portugal and Argentina.”

Netflix later confirmed the details of the latest price increases. The Standard plan with ads goes from $7 to $8 per month, while the ad-free version of Standard goes from $15 to $18 per month. Monthly rates for Premium, which offers 4K Ultra HD and HDR, increase from $23 to $25. Adding an additional member from outside your household to a streaming plan also becomes more expensive, increasing from $8 per month to $9 per month.

In 2023, Netflix eliminated its Basic plan . This change preceded the last one at subscription costs less than two years ago.
