SZA takes a vow of silence before the film's premiere

SZA announced that she will take a ten-day vow of silence as her debut film in India One of those days is released.

The singer-songwriter (real name Solána Imani Rowe) shared her excitement about it the release of the film before the vow of silence began via an Instagram post on Friday, January 17th.

“Man, listen. I’m in India and they’re going to take my phone away in 7 hours to take a 10 day vow of silence 😭 but I couldn’t miss release day!!” SZA, 35, wrote. “I swear to God, it was the most unique experience of my entire life!”

Refers to their producer Issa Rae and co-star Keke PalmerSZA added, “When I signed on to do this film, I literally didn’t think about anything other than, ‘Damn, I love Issa and Keke, what an honor.’ I didn’t think about the fact that I was actively touring and couldn’t rehearse or prepare, I didn’t think about the fact that I had to finish a deluxe video, or think about the fact that I actually had to be in front of the camera at some point 😂😭 (Like duh, dummy.) This sounds crazy, but that’s how much I love the respect and admiration of these women!! NO THOUGHTS, JUST YES.”

SZA then praised the rest of the team involved, emphasizing how much hard work was put in to achieve the finished product.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and see me beyond all preconceived notions. You oppressed me in a way I can never post (let’s just say if it has to go down, it will go down 🤭😭). The “Kill Bill” singer further joked, “Y’all are crazy for choosing someone with NO acting experience to be your co-star 😂But damn!!! I can never thank you enough for your patience, trust and understanding. You both need to know that this changed my life.”

SZA is feeling “cringe” after revealing a little too much about her love life. It all started when the 34-year-old “Snooze” singer took to social media to share some intense thoughts about love. “I want to be loved so much that I can’t think, I can’t breathe, I can’t BE. I WANT TO BE CAUGHT IN (…).

In the comments section, many of those involved in the film returned their praise.

“Girl, this is literally something we will never forget!!! You are a central reminder, I love you!” wrote Palmer, 31 years old Tiffany Black commented: “I love you, baby. You killed it. YOU ARE AN ACTRESS!!!!! Let’s make another movie 💪🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾”
