The dirham will appreciate against the euro between November and December 2024

According to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), between November and December 2024, the dirham appreciated by 0.8% against the euro and depreciated by 0.6% against the US dollar.

BAM has not held foreign exchange auctions since December 2021, the central bank noted in its latest monthly review of the economic, monetary and financial situation.

In the interbank market, the volume of currency exchange against dirhams again reached DH40.2 billion in November 2024, a decrease of 41.4% compared to November 2023, BAM indicates.

The volume of banking transactions with customers was DH32.9 billion for spot purchases and DH16.1 billion for forward purchases, compared to DH31.7 billion and DH20.8 billion, respectively, last year.

In terms of sales, they covered an amount of DH34.2 billion for spot sales and DH2.4 billion for forward sales, compared to DH34 billion and DH5.1 billion respectively in the same period last year.
