As fires rage across California, Tyler Perry is calling out insurance companies for allegedly canceling “millions of policies” amid the crisis.

Tyler Perry is calling on insurance companies to cancel policies before fires

On Sunday, January 12, Tyler Perry shared a long message Instagram after witnessing a woman using a garden hose to protect her 90-year-old parents’ home because their insurance had been canceled. This moment led the filmmaker to question insurance companies for taking people’s money but then abandoning them when they need the coverage most.

“Does anyone else find it appalling that insurance companies have been draining billions of dollars from communities for years and then suddenly are allowed to cancel millions of policies for the very people they got rich off of?” People who have been paying premiums all their lives are standing out of pure greed for nothing,” Perry wrote.

Additionally, Perry shared that he is keeping everyone affected by the fires in his prayers. He also revealed that he is working to find ways to offer support.
