RNI National Council: Akhannouch assures the government’s next projects

RNI President Aziz Akhannouch spoke about the priorities of the second half of the government’s mandate during the Tractor Party’s National Council in Rabat on Saturday.

“The second half of the government’s mandate will be dominated by strategic priorities, particularly related to the water sector.”he noted, adding that the state will move forward “Strengthening infrastructure by completing the construction of 15 major dams, accelerating the hydraulic basin connection program and implementing seawater desalination projects with the aim of mobilizing 1.7 billion m3 by 2030, for a total cost of DH18 billion.”.

Regarding employment, the President of the RNI pointed out that the year 2025 will be “crucial” for the direction of the government, which aims to reduce the unemployment rate and provide employment opportunities for young people, as part of an integrated approach that mobilizes a budget of around 14% billion dirhams.

The Head of Government also raised the issue of the Moroccan Sahara and welcomed the successes and achievements of national diplomacy under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which was characterized in particular by the growing and widespread international recognition of the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its Sahara. He pointed out that the next phase of this act “Requires further mobilization and vigilance to continue strengthening Morocco’s position, promoting the justice of its cause and countering the maneuvers of its opponents.”.

On the social aspect, Mr. Akhannouch welcomed the “visionary” royal approach committed to strengthening the centrality of the family in the process of building modern Morocco, in particular through the revision of the Family Code.

The President of the RNI finally reiterated his thanks to MS King Mohammed VI. for its “historic” decision to make the Amazigh New Year a paid holiday, thereby completing historic achievements in this area.
